Project 1 with the chandelier crystals!

Well, as promised I am showing you what I come up with for all of those beautiful crystals I recently came home with!  This is a fun, vintage style, ornament.

To make these I used those little “jiffy pots” you can buy at a nursery or lawn and garden store.  I used a 2 1/4” size.  Also some white and silver acrylic paint, some coffee dyed  lace ribbon, foil glitter and rubber stamps for the letters.

First paint the pot white, let dry. I sanded away some just to give more a worn look.  Then I just free hand painted some silver on the tops and while the paint was still wet sprinkled on some “foil glitter” .  TIP:  When I used the foil glitter I thought it looked to cheap and “new” so I experimented! I hit it with my heat gun! O wow, i love what it did!  It kinda curls and forms to the piece and “tarnishes”—giving it a more aged look! Be careful! It will begin to smolder though!  But held there just long enough, it will even get a brown tone to it. Really fun to do and the foil glitter is so cheap to buy!

Then I just stamped on “PARIS”, wired the crystal to my ribbon hanger and DONE!  Hope you like them and maybe even try some yourself! Would be fun for me to see what you come up with too….so email me some pictures!

Before and After!

I just love looking at “before and after” pics, don’t you? So I thought I’d share one of my dressers with you. This piece is already sold, didn’t last long! It is fun for me to transform something someone saw as clutter into something beautiful for your home!

Hope everyone is having a good week! Its almost Friday!

Estate sale finds!

Wow…look at all these great chandelier crystals I purchased recently at an estate sale. They look so beautiful just sitting in this great vintage pink dish.  I will be, of course, creating several projects using them….I will post them along the way!

Latest project

Good evening…I wanted to share my latest furniture piece.  This started out as a found dresser. It was old, ugly and lonely. I gave it a fresh coat of paint and a little detail and just love it! Let me know what YOU think!
